Elon Musk's AI firm, xAI, has unveiled Grok, its AI chatbot, in a beta release. Grok enters the chatbot arena, aiming to challenge the current leader, ChatGPT. Musk and xAI emphasise Grok's unique selling point: a penchant for sarcasm that sets it apart from other chatbots! The name "Grok" may pique your curiosity too; although xAI drew inspiration for Grok's sass and sarcasm from Douglas Adams's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the term "grok" traces its origins to an earlier work of science fiction.
