Apple is delving deeper into artificial intelligence, developing an in-house chatbot nicknamed "Apple GPT." Still under wraps, this tool, built using Apple’s own framework codenamed "Ajax", mirrors offerings like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard. As they recruit AI specialists, Apple seems set to meet growing consumer demand for AI tools. This being Apple, it’s no surprise that privacy remains a priority as they navigate capabilities and usage.

Meta AI has developed a powerful new AI system that’s capable of translating text descriptions into visual representations and vice versa. CM3leon (pronounced chameleon) will convert text-to-image and image-to-text, and it has the potential to transform how we interact with AI technology.

OpenAI have announced that they plan to open access of GPT-4 to new developers this month and will gradually increase availability based on computing resources. The pilot project in Devon aims to prevent water pollution at Combe Martin seaside resort by placing around 50 sensors in rivers and fields. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has warned about the dangers of using AI to create fake videos of public figures, saying that it will soon become "easy" to do so. Hollywood actors have gone on strike on with SAG-AFTRA's chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland revealing a proposal from Hollywood studios that involves using AI to protect actors' digital likenesses.
