⚖️ Is this just "GDPR" for the AI world?

The EU AI Act is the first-ever legislation for artificial intelligence, similar to GDPR. It introduces categories such as 'foundation models' and 'general-purpose AI', and outlines best practices for AI use. The Act emphasises the development of trustworthy AI and imposes obligations for high-risk AI systems. The legislation is currently undergoing final negotiations before implementation.

Google's Med-PaLM 2 AI tool has been tested in Mayo Clinic and other hospitals since April. It's a chatbot designed to answer medical questions using a healthcare-specific language model. While it aims to be more reliable than other chatbots such as Bing and ChatGPT, Google acknowledges accuracy issues that make it unsuitable for healthcare journeys.
